New ID system could help with Roswell’s homeless problem

News Briefs

There’s a new idea to help ease the homeless problem in Roswell.

The Roswell Homeless Coalition is working with the city on a fingerprint-based ID system, to give to people who are having trouble qualifying for a state ID.

Organizers say it would help people sign up for services, take GED classes and apply for jobs, while they’re still working on gathering the documents needed for a regular ID.

The city has not yet given the official go-ahead for the program.
