Navajo students participate in emerging writers institute

A new program is helping develop the next generation of Navajo writers. 

According to the Farmington Daily Times, 30 high school and college students took part in the Emerging Dine Writers Institute. 

Starting last Thursday, students met for five days at Navajo Technical University in Crownpoint, where they learned writing techniques from acclaimed Dine writers.

Students say it was a great lesson in word choice and spacing.
