News Briefs

A mining company will soon begin searching for precious metals in the Santa Fe National Forest.

The American Subsidiary of New World Cobalt, “Co-Mexico,” recently gave the forest plans for mineral exploration in the Pecos and Las Vegas ranger districts.

The company expects the drilling operation to impact two acres. The forest has provided Co-Mexico with a list of measures to protect plants and wildlife in the area.
