Lawmakers want to create water resource council

Lawmakers want to focus on managing New Mexico’s water resources. 

A bill would create a council focused on organizing data related to water use.  It comes as New Mexico continues to whether the long-term effects of drought. 

However, the legislation still notes the state would need to develop a policy that improves water resources.
