The Tularosa Basin Downwinders are raising money so they can once again share their stories with Congress.

The group is made up of people who live near the Trinity Site where the first atomic bomb was tested. They say they’ve suffered from a number of cancers and other diseases they believe are from the testing.

They plan to hold a benefit on Sunday afternoon at the National Hispanic Cultural Centers to travel to Washington D.C. to ask for acknowledgment and compensation from the U.S. government.
