New Mexico’s new Medicaid system is at risk as officials say they are continuing to miss deadlines. The Albuquerque Journal is reporting that the computer upgrade is required by the federal government.
Human Services officials believe it will transform the way the state provides services allowing applicants to apply by using smartphones and determining eligibility quicker.
The completion of the project was already pushed back two years to 2021. A new LFC report states vendor accountability and staffing issues are the two main issues.
