Albuquerque garbage and recycling service delayed again

News Briefs

The winter weather means people in Albuquerque will have to wait another day for trash pick up.

Garbage and recycling was already delayed by one day because of the New Year’s holiday. Now there’s another delay because of the snow.

That means Tuesday customers will have their trash picked up Thursday, and Friday customers not until Sunday.

The city’s free tree recycling service that was supposed to start Wednesday was also postponed, but that didn’t stop people from showing up, chucking their trees over the fence.

The centers are scheduled to be back open and accepting trees from 8 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.

Below is the trash schedule:

  • Tuesday pickup will be serviced Thursday, January 3
  • Wednesday pickup will be serviced Friday, January 4
  • Thursday pickup will be serviced Saturday, January 5
  • Friday pickup will be serviced Sunday, January 6
