Rio Rancho students face charges after putting substance in classmate’s drink

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Two Rio Rancho students are facing charges Tuesday night after pouring a substance into their classmate’s drinks. Police say two Eagle Ridge Middle School students had to be rushed to the hospital after their drinks were tampered with in chemistry class. No word on what exactly was put in the drinks. The two students accused of doing it are now facing battery charges.

Police still searching for missing man

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – State police and search and rescue crews are still searching for a missing man. 41-year-old Isaac Morfin wandered off from the Hopewell Lake area between Tierra Amarilla and Tres Piedra around 8 Monday night. Search crews spent Tuesday searching with canines, by air and on foot.

Police arrest man accused of slashing a man’s face

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department arrested a suspect accused of slashing another man’s face. It happened Monday near San Mateo and Gibson. Police say the victim was walking home when Isaiah Gurule demanded money then attacked him. An officer spotted Gurule as he dropped the knife and started running. He’s charged with aggravated battery.

New ‘Scorch Trials’ trailer released

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The trailer for “Scorch Trials” the sequel to Maze Runner shot here in New Mexico is now released. Even in the short clip, you get a glimpse of Winrock Mall. Other key movie scenes were also filmed here. For instance, all the desert and sand shots are in New Mexico. The movie hits the big screen in September.
