Witnesses: Teens opened fire after getting kicked out of birthday party

New Mexico

KRQE News 13 is learning more about what led up to a triple murder in Valencia County this weekend.

Darren Bernal, 40; Nathan Morrison, 28; and Joseph Santiago, 29; were shot and killed at a home off El Cerro Loop and Sun Valley Road.

According to a criminal complaint, Brandon Dowdy, 18; Robert Wilson, 19; and Anthony Williams, 17; were at a birthday party there. Witnesses say they got into an argument with the host and were kicked out. They say the teens returned and opened fire, but they’re all pointing the finger at each other.

According to online court records, Wilson and Dowdy have no prior criminal history in New Mexico. KRQE News 13 is not able to access Williams’ records since he’s a juvenile.
