A short video posted online shows employees at a New Mexico Little Caesars appearing to play baseball with the pizza dough. It’s said to have happened at the location on South Main Street in Roswell.
“I think it’s a little bit bothersome,” said Francisco Bicol.
“I thought it was very unprofessional of them,” said Alondra Mendoza.
The person who posted the video wants to remain anonymous, but says she shot the video last week, and that she saw the employees put the dough on a tray for use afterward.
“It’s a little surprising. A little bit, probably, issues with sanitation,” said Noni Becker.
“You know, we’re not going to be fooled that this hasn’t before. It happens in a lot of restaurants,” said Bobby Villegas.
The woman also claims the women in the video were managers.
“They need to set an example to their workers and show some respect towards the public,” said Mendoza.
KRQE News 13 reached out to the corporate offices of Little Caesars. The chain insists “no pizza was made or served with the dough” seen in the video, but wouldn’t say how it can be certain of that.
“It’ll make me think twice about going to get some pizza from there,” said Mendoza.
“If anything touches below your waist or at least on the floor, that’s considered unsanitary,” said Bicol.
Other customers were a little more forgiving.
“I’m not going to punish a company because they have some bad employees,” said Villegas.
“As long as we address issues and things get corrected, absolutely. Definitely give them a second chance,” said Becker.
Little Caesars says it’s currently exploring its options for disciplinary action against the two employees. KRQE News 13 is also told the location is an independently owned franchise.
