Two vehicles crash into Espanola buildings Tuesday morning

New Mexico

Espanola firefighters have been busy dealing with cars crashed into buildings.

Tuesday morning, the firefighters union posted photos of the scene at the Treasures Enchantment thrift shop on Riverside Drive.

The fire department says the rain may have been a factor, with the driver reporting his rear wheels locked up just before the crash. Officials advised the building owners not to let anyone inside until the structure gets inspected.

No one was hurt in the crash, but a driver in a second crash later in the morning ended up in the hospital with minor injuries. Firefighters say it happened when an elderly woman had a medical episode behind the wheel.
