Restoration work is about to get underway in part of Santa Fe National Forest.

The two projects are located on the Espanola Ranger District.

There will be thinning and prescribed burns on 184 acres near the Black Canyon Campground and 500 acres in Pacheco Canyon.

Forest officials want to improve the health and long-term resilience of the forest.

The projects are expected to take a few weeks starting Tuesday.
