The trial has begun in a 20-year-old New Mexico murder case.
According to the Roswell Daily Record, 40-year-old Tony Gonzalez has been charged as an accessory to first-degree murder.
Edward Sanchez, 25, was found shot dead in a ditch near Bottomless Lakes State Park in 1997.
Monday prosecutors claimed that Gonzalez was there at the time of the shooting, but was not responsible for Sanchez’s death.
Investigators had long suspected serval killers, but until this year, only one was charged.
