Three teen suspects are in custody for allegedly killing three men at a home in eastern Los Lunas early Saturday.
According to the Valencia County Sheriff’s Office, the three male teens are being charged with three counts of murder each.
Deputies believe Brandon Dowdy and Robert Wilson of Belen and Anthony William of Los Lunas shot and killed the men at the home on East El Cerro Loop around 1:45 a.m. Saturday morning.
Deputies have identifed the victims as Darren Bernal and Nathan Morrison of Belen and Joseph Santiago of Albuquerque.
Deputies believe the victims and suspects knew each other, but they’re still working to figure out exactly what happened.
“There was a relationship between the victims and the suspects, a personal relationship between them,” said Sgt. Joseph Rowland with the Valencia County Sheriff’s department. “So, we don’t believe that it was gang or drug related at this time.”
Witnesses in the home at the time of the shooting told deputies a blue SUV fled the scene. That vehicle was pulled over just minutes later by Los Lunas Police and the three teen suspects were taken into custody.
Dowdy and Wilson will be booked into the Valencia County Jail, while William heads to the juvenile detention center in Albuquerque.
On Saturday night, KRQE News 13 caught up with Dowdy, Wilson and William as they were being taken to jail. All three claimed they were innocent and that they did not pull the trigger.
