Thirty years later, Tara Calico case remains unsolved

New Mexico

Thursday marks a dark anniversary for one New Mexico community – a reminder of a case that has yet to be solved.

Thirty years ago, 19-year-old Tara Calico went missing while on a bike ride in Rio Communities.

In the last 30 years there have been many tips, many leads, but still, the case remains unsolved.

Tara’s sister Michele and a former classmate Melinda Esquivel have spent the last few years investigating the case themselves.

Esquivel is a filmmaker and is producing a podcast revealing what they’ve uncovered.

The FBI says they too are still investigating the case.

Thursday, they released a picture of what they believe Tara would look like today.
