NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Biologists are in the mountains of Arizona and New Mexico for the annual Mexican Grey Wolf Count.
They are in Arizona and New Mexico and started the process in November. It’s expected to run through early February with the official count being released in March.
In 2020, at least 163 wolves were counted, marking a 25% jump in population. That is halfway to declaring the species as “recovered.”
