Tesla is hoping the state legislature will win back a Senate bill to let the company open up shop in New Mexico.
According to The Albuquerque Journal, Tesla representatives answered questions from the legislative interim committee Tuesday.
This is over a bill sponsored by State Sen. Jerry Ortiz Y Pino.
It would amend state law to let vehicle manufacturers like Tesla, open up shop in the state instead of selling through a franchised dealership.
Tesla officials told the committee the current rules hurt Tesla car owners.
Those against it say it could hurt local dealers.
