Teen arrested in Las Vegas for armed robbery

A 16-year-old is facing a litany of charges after an armed robbery in Las Vegas.

New Mexico State Police say the male teen robbed a Giant gas station just off I-25 near milepost 339 early Saturday morning, then stole a vehicle with the owner asleep inside.

Officers say the teen forced the victim to drive at gunpoint before releasing him. The teen was tracked down and then arrested. Police have not released his identity at this time.

The teen is also facing charges including armed robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment and auto theft.

The juvenile was transported and booked into the Bernalillo Juvenile Detention Center in Albuquerque. There is no further information available at this time.
