New Mexico

(KRQE)- The state’s income is exceeding expectations set by economists.

On Tuesday, the legislature’s revenue tracking report showed $85 million more than predicted in the general fund for the fiscal year. Record-breaking oil production, construction, and job growth are aiding the state’s financial growth.

With the extra money, the state increased salaries at public schools and state agencies and started numerous infrastructure projects.
