SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico State Police are investigating a police shooting involving the Santa Fe Police Department. Santa Fe police said officers responded to a home on Calle Ojo Feliz near St. Michaels Dr. around 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. The person who called said a man had told them to call 911 because he wanted to kill himself, showed the person a gun, and then walked into an arroyo and shot the gun.
When officers arrived, they said the man shot the gun multiple times. They said the man refused to put the gun down and that they tried to de-escalate the situation. At least one officer fired hitting the man. He was taken to the hospital and State Police said his condition is unknown. No officers were injured.
