New Mexico State Police have released the results of a special investigation that took place in Santa Fe last month. Special Investigations agents conducted a minor compliance operation in which establishments were checked for their compliance to liquor laws regarding minors.
Agents report that a total of 134 liquor establishments were checked and that multiple businesses were cited for selling alcohol to minors and other violations. NMSP states that 14 establishments sold alcohol to minors.
In total, agents issued 32 administrative citations as well as 11 non-traffic citations. NMSP encourage establishments with liquor licenses to be extra vigilant when checking identification as graduation season approaches.
