State Auditor Wayne Johnson says he has had a tough time finding out where a million dollars of money meant for a broadband project went.
An investigation was launched into local broadband company REDI Net after an audit revealed nearly $1 million unaccounted for.
There were also questions about the whereabouts of 12 miles of fiber optic cable.
After being forced to subpoena records Johnson’s office has concluded that there is more than likely no missing cable.
Johnson says most of the missing funds have now been accounted for, but there are still roughly $200,000 which are still under investigation.
