Single vehicle crash results in double fatality near Clines Corners

New Mexico State Police have released information regarding a single vehicle crash that resulted in two fatalities.

The crash occurred on I-40 westbound near mile post 214 west of Clines Corners on Saturday, January 19, 2019.

An investigation by NMSP described a Ford F-250 truck was hauling a 36-foot trailer was on I-40 driving west when the driver, for unknown reasons, lost control and rolled while passing another vehicle.

The driver of the truck, 64-year-old Duane George and 61-year-old passenger Patricireceived received fatal injuries.

Both the driver and passenger were pronounced dead by the Office of the Medical Investigator.

NMSP states that seatbelts were correctly utilized and that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
