Eddy County Sheriff Mark Cage has a message for what he calls “keyboard warriors.” Cage, along with six other sheriffs and the New Mexico Sheriff’s Association, met with Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Wednesday to discuss ways to keep New Mexicans safe.

After the meeting, the governor posted a picture of the group. The post sparked comments from users, accusing the sheriffs in attendance of being in the governor’s pocket and those of the cartel.

In a separate post, Eddy County Sheriff Mark Cage called the comments reckless, inflammatory and just plain stupid. He also encouraged commenters to pay him a visit, saying, “If you’re tough enough to post it, you should be tough enough to say it to my face.”
