Senators drafting legislation for Gila River protections

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Two New Mexico senators are drafting new legislation that would better protect the Gila River. U.S. Senators Tom Udall and Martin Heinrich say it would protect the river’s traditional values.

It would also protect the Gila’s free-flowing nature. They’re seeking public comments as they draft the measure.
