Members of the Santa Fe Police Union have voted to accept retention bonuses. The Santa Fe City Council will now have to approve this move.

According to The Santa Fe New Mexican, bonuses are about $4,700 in exchange for officers staying with the city for at least the next six months.

The bonuses are an effort to keep officers from going to other departments for higher pay.
