Budget hearings are scheduled to get underway Tuesday morning in Santa Fe.
According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, Mayor Alan Webber released his first budget proposal, calling for $6 million more than the current fiscal year.
The budget includes a 2% pay increase for city workers and increases to employee benefits. Webber plans to spend more on public safety and a program to steer teens into a law enforcement career.
Santa Fe city council will have the final say.
