Santa Fe City Council bans no-knock warrants

New Mexico

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Santa Fe City Councilors have passed a bill banning officers from using no-knock warrants. The department says it hasn’t served a search warrant without knocking first for years but this new ordinance makes it official in writing. It also requires every officer involved in executing a search warrant to have their body cameras on.
