Local kids and young adults are giving back during the holidays.
The Rio Rancho Youth Chorus hosted ‘Home for the Holidays’ at Rio Rancho United Methodist Church this weekend.
They performed winter concerts while asking guests to donate new, unwrapped toys.
Overall, they collected more than 100 toys for the local Saint Felix pantry.
Organizers say it teaches kids an important lesson.
“We’re also trying to help the kids understand that there are other things going on in Rio Rancho and there are ways to help other people in Rio Rancho, and other organizations besides just singing,” said the president of Rio Rancho Creative Crossroads, Neal Shotwell.
