Reward offered for safe return of Roswell alien’s head

New Mexico

The city of Roswell wants to know: Who decapitated Alien Bob?

“Looks like somebody took either some sort of power tool or a hand saw and cut his head clear off,” a Roswell resident said.

The figure is part of a photo-op on Highway 285 just south of town featuring aliens painted by famous artist John Cerney. It’s been there since 2013 when the Chamber of Commerce raised donations to pay for it.

Now, the chamber just wants Bob’s head back, and it’s offering a reward.

“Just asking for the public’s help to see if anybody has any information, compelling the person or people that did this to return Alien Bob’s head to us so we can re-attach him there,” Todd Verciglio, with the Roswell Chamber of Commerce, said.

This isn’t the first time the photo-op has been vandalized. Four years ago a baby alien was stolen, then later returned.
