Recreational areas closed for Fourth of July

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Many recreational areas will be closed this Fourth of July due to high fire danger.

At this time, Fenton Lake, Hyde Memorial, Manzano Mountains, Morphy Lake and Cimarron Canyon are closed are closed. 

Navajo Lake is open except for the mast up pole for sailboats, which is located at the Pine Boat Ramp.

Heron and Elephant Butte Lakes are open, but do have fire restrictions in place.

The Santa Fe National Forest and Cibola National Forest will also remain closed over the holiday.
