Preparations begins for Air and Space Fiesta at Kirtland AFB

New Mexico

You will soon get the chance to check out some cool military planes.

The Air and Space Fiesta at Kirtland Air Force Base is a free air show on May 18th. Families can watch a series of flying acts, including a special presentation from the Thunderbirds.

“You’re gonna see a mixture of modern military aircraft as well as historic military aircraft. We’re expecting the F-35 to come out on display. We’re also expecting some historic WWII aircraft,” said Major Kevin Pieper with the 58th Special Operations Wing.

The Fiesta will also include a STEM tent for kids of all ages from booths from NASA and the Air Force Space Command.

Gates open at the Fiesta at 9 a.m. and no tickets are required for this free event. Click here for additional information.
