There’s a bill aiming to increase the minimum wage, pre-filed in the House by Democratic Rep. Miguel Garcia.

Currently, the minimum wage sits at $7.50.

This bill would raise it to $10 an hour in July 2020, and bump it up to $11 in 2021, and $12 the following year. The minimum wage would then increase based on inflation.

Democrat Rep. Patricia Roybal Caballero is also proposing a bill calling to raise wages to $15 an hour by January 2020.

Governor-elect Michelle Lujan Grisham said during her campaign that she would support raising the minimum wage in increments starting at $10 an hour then to $12.
