The Federal Aviation Commission and National Transportation Safety Board are now investigating what caused a plane to crash just one side of Santa Fe killing one person.
According to officials, the crash happened around 7:50 p.m. Monday night.
The plane was attempting to land at the Santa Fe Municipal airport when it went down.
Officials say the pilot was not communicating with air traffic control prior to the crash.
When police arrived on the scene, they say the plane was destroyed by fire.
The one fatality is believed to be the pilot, but officials say since there were no flight plans filed, they don’t have information on who the pilot may be.
The NTSB will be in charge of the investigation.
