Michelle Lujan Grisham’s pick to lead the Public Education Department is preparing to get to work after being confirmed by the Senate.
Karen Trujillo won the confirmation in the Senate by a 38-0 vote, according to the Albuquerque Journal.
Trujillo had been serving as the Interim Associate Dean of Research at the New Mexico State University College of Education. She has 25 years of experience in the field.
Trujillo will now be tasked with replacing the PARCC test and overhauling the A to F school grading system.
