A new charity in Albuquerque will work to solve homelessness on a grander scale.
Friday morning, Mayor Tim Keller unveiled new billboards promoting the One Albuquerque Housing Fund. Anyone can directly contribute to the city’s fund for housing vouchers by simply going online.
The city says for many families experiencing homelessness, having a place to call home is the key to getting back on track.
“This is very specific. This is literally about us taking one person at a time off of the streets,” said Mayor Keller.
You can donate any amount online. The city website does outline specific amounts to help families in need including $50 for “the basics,” which includes a full set of move in supplies.
