Officials warn of caller ID scam in Santa Fe

The Santa Fe Police Department is warning residents of an ongoing arrest warrant scam that may look legitimate. Scammers created a fake caller ID that shows up on your phone as the police station.

The caller claims there is a warrant out for your arrest but that you can pay a fine in order to avoid criminal charges. Santa Fe Police remind residents they will never ask for your payments over the phone. 

If you’ve been contacted in a scam like this, you’re asked to file a report with the police.
