A bomb squad responded to a suspicious package at a playground in southeast New Mexico.
According to the Dexter Fire Department, a briefcase was found around 11 p.m. Friday night at the Central Park.
Children playing there said the briefcase had possible wires and noises coming from it.
About seven hours later, a bomb squad from Dona Ana County determined the suspicious package was not dangerous and instead was full of personal belongings.
The Dexter fire chief says they’re aware of who the briefcase belongs to and are investigating why that person left it at the playground.
No charges are expected at this point.
