Officials: Manned aircraft crashes in SE New Mexico

Officials at Holloman Air Force Base says a manned aircraft has crashed in southeast New Mexico.

They say the crash happened around 11:45 a.m. at Red Rio Bombing Range, 65 miles north of the Holloman Air Force Base.

The condition of the pilot is unknown at this time and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash. 

The Red Rio Bombing Range is an active Air Force facility that includes 196,000 acres on White Sands Missile Range.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
