Students at New Mexico State University are making sure seniors in the East Mountains have more access to fresh foods.

There are very few grocery stores in the area.

To help ensure residents have access to fresh fruits and veggies, the school’s college of agriculture is teaching people at the Senior Center in Edgewood how to grow their own, even in the winter, through indoor gardening.

NMSU hopes to get the local 4-H and FAA Youth involved this spring.
