Nearly 1,000 pounds of drugs and paraphernalia are off the streets after two large busts by New Mexico State Police.

Both busts occurred at the Gallup port of entry.

On January 15, police say they seized nearly 400 pounds of marijuana from a car hauler.

The next day, Eaid Gheith and Cemil Durgut, both of Illinois, were caught with another 560 plus pounds of marijuana, cannabis vape oil and more.

The two men were booked into the Gallup-McKinley County Detention Center.
