New Mexico Highlands University will now be offering a Master of Fine Arts degree in Media Arts and Cultural Technology.

The program will be the first of its kind in the state and the college’s only terminal degree making it the highest degree awarded in a field.

A 60-credit hour degree, the program will expand on the current Master of Arts degree at the school. The new program will be a two and a half year plan.

The Media and Arts Technology Department at Highlands offers both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in several concentrations of study such as visual communications, multimedia, video production, interactivity and software systems design.
