The city of Portales is finally sharing plans for a new recreation center.
According to The Eastern New Mexico News, the plans call for a full gymnasium, multi-purpose room and racquetball courts, craft area, locker rooms, office space and a sports lounge.
It’s slated to go up next to the city pool on Seventh Street.
The city manager says it’s going to cost an estimated $8 million.
Local financial advisors are now working through potential sources for fundraising.
