A settlement with New Mexico’s Racing Commission has been made. Now, it heads to a judge for officials’ approval.
According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, the settlement aims at ending a legal dispute that would award the state’s sixth and final license for a new Hidalgo Downs Race Track. A petition was filed in district court by the Hidalgo Downs claiming the commission has not properly studied the issue.
Five companies are fighting for the license. A special meeting among the racing commission to discuss the license is scheduled for April 30.
