You might think the top state that people retire to is Florida, but not so according to moving company, United Van Lines.
New Mexico topped the list in a survey of how many people moving to each state are moving there for retirement. In the Land of Enchantment, it was 43 percent.
The survey listed the state’s outdoor opportunities and low cost of living, among the attractions for older adults.
Florida and Arizona ranked second and third. The study shows retirees are more likely to leave northeastern states like New Jersey and Connecticut.
