A New Mexico man has died while climbing Goat Mountain near Eklutna Lake in Alaska.
Alaska State Troopers identified the man as 25-year old Daniel Dresher. Officials are awaiting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Officials say Dresher’s climbing partner reported he had fallen on Wednesday. When the climber tried to reach Dresher, phone contact was lost. Troopers have stated Dresher fell around 500 feet.
A helicopter and rescue team were sent out to recover his body.
