New Mexico educators take part in wind power workshop

New Mexico

Educators in southern New Mexico are working to get more hands-on experience in their classrooms.

Last week, 30 teachers from Curry and Quay Counties traveled to visit nearby wind farms to see for themselves how they work.

They also spoke with professionals in the Department of Workforce Solutions to learn how to teach kids about wind power with a hands-on approach.

Teachers hope their new knowledge will encourage more kids to pursue a career in wind energy.
