New Mexico business leaders looking to invest in state’s hemp industry

New Mexico

Many investors are trying to get in on what some are saying could be a multi-billion dollar hemp boom. In July, hemp will become legal in New Mexico.

According to the Albuquerque Journal, local business leaders are trying to invest in the estimated $2.6 billion industry nationwide by 2022.

Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham recently signed the first of its kind bill, expanding both commercial and industrial uses of hemp. It’s most commonly used for things like CBD oils, textiles and cosmetics.
