Some New Mexicans with medical marijuana licenses are having a hard time finding work.

About 58,000 people in the state have legal access to medical cannabis to deal with a number of ailments and diseases.

Now, national chains and New Mexico employers with ties to the federal government require drug testing.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, many patients say they are having a tough time finding a job in New Mexico.

Advocates say states like New Mexico should do more to protect the civil rights of medical marijuana patients when it involves employment.
