New Mexicans celebrated the first night of Hanukkah in Santa Fe.
The Santa Fe Jewish Center hosted its ‘Chanukah on the Plaza’ celebration Sunday.
It featured live music, acrobats, food and more.
However, the main reason hundreds of Santa Feans gathered together was for the massive menorah lighting.
“Here we are in a beautiful day of Santa Fe and we’re celebrating this miracle once again. Hanukkah once again. The Jewish spirit is alive and Hanukka is alive,” said Rabbi Berel Levertov of the Santa Fe Jewish Center.
Candle lightings for the remaining days of Hanukkah will take place at 5 p.m. each night.
